    Answers to common questions

    What does Lady Buddha do?

    We’re passionate cooks making delicious home-style Indian food. Our meals are available as:

    • Frozen ready-meal curries – fabulous food whenever you need it
    • Weekend takeaway supper curries – changing weekly and best enjoyed in tiffins!
    • Party platters – Indian finger food, small bowls and curries for celebrations and events

    We’re not a restaurant and don’t offer table service – just great food, made with love.

    When do you open?

    We’re open to the public Thursday to Saturday, but service may be reduced when we’re cooking for private orders.

    What if I haven’t pre-ordered my meal?

    You can always pop by for a paratha roll or stock up on frozen meals.
    For weekend supper meals, pre-orders are the way to go – we cook only to order, which means fresher food and less waste! You can pre-order up to a week
in advance until 3pm on the day.

    What if I don’t want to invest in a tiffin?

    It’s entirely your choice – go with whatever suits your lifestyle. We also offer compostable containers.

    How do I find out more about party platters?

    Drop us an email at hello@ladybuddha.co.uk with your event details – date, time, dietary preferences, and number of guests. We’ll send over a menu, pricing, 
and some recommendations.

    Why aren’t you on Deliveroo, Uber Eats, or any other delivery platforms?

    Those platforms do not align with our values  and because we cook in small batches the cost is prohibitive. But you can order directly through our online store.

    Do you offer delivery?

    Yes! We deliver to local postcodes.

    What’s your backstory?

    We love  proper Indian home-style cooking but feel many food outlets do not produce anything like the kind of food we’d like to eat ourselves
    As an independent locally managed business, we’re asking ourselves these questions:

    • Can a food business provide meaningful employment—especially to local women with traditional cooking skills—so they can become financially independent?
    • Do people care about fresh, wholesome food, or will they always choose big shiny brands  pumping cash and carry business out of dark kitchens?
    • Can we create a food space that adds to the culture of Garratt Lane?
    • In a world that’s in a mad rush for everything fast, can we do it slow, intentional, and sustainable?
